A handsome Black and White named Willy

Willy came home with us from the Humane Society in 1994 and enriched our lives for seventeen years. He was a sweet, loving kitty who expressed himself with soft meows, lots of rubs and a mix of soft purrs or very robust purrs along with body language that got us into the kitchen for treats (healthy ones of course).
He loved flowers and other live plants. Willy especially loved playing with toys wielded by Mom and Dad along with his catnip toys, which he killed several times a day. He was pretty good at ping-pong ball soccer too, but he was really good at cat-naps and loved snoozing in each day's many sunspots or out in the lanai.
In the way of cats, naps were often interrupted by times of racing around the house like a lunatic. He loved being chased by Mom, which he instigated by making sure she was looking when he snatched a sprig of wheat from one of her dried plant arrangements and took off with it. Of course he'd stop and let her almost catch him before taking off with his prize again.
Willy was our beautiful little friend and companion, and we loved him dearly. In July of 2011 we made the heart-breaking decision to let him go peacefully rather than try to keep him alive in deteriorating health and discomfort. We believe that it was the best decision for him.
We have his ashes and lots of pictures. We miss him terribly, but we know that we were blessed in having had the three of us share our home and our love for all those years. We look forward to joining him someday on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
