Here is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Mykka (pron. Meek-a)

Hi there! My name is Mykka and I used to be a puppy mill dog. I got rescued, but then I was in a home where the owners weren't very nice to me. I had never been toilet trained properly, and I just didn't know I was supposed to do all that "stuff" outside or on special papers.
I ended up at the Ottawa Humane Society and because of my partial Chihuahua background I was given over to The Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CHRT) guys. At the time of the transfer, the Vet at the Humane Society estimated my age to be 10 years.
On January 18th 2002 my picture appeared in the Kanata Kourier-Standard weekly newspaper as the "Pet of the Week". Well my "Mom" asked to meet me, so I was delivered to her that very same day. She had a great bed for me to sleep in but I told her I would rather sleep with her in the 'big' bed. We watched some TV ('yawn') and she scratched my tummy ('my favorite!'), and then she turned out the light to go to sleep. Well! when I scratched at the covers and nosed my way down under them and snuggled up close and fell asleep - Mom was hooked for life!
I know she just loves me to pieces! We go for walks every day (except for the winter - my short legs and tiny feet just can't navigate in the snow and salt); Mom brushes me ('my favorite!'); mom puts a cookie into my squeaky toy and tosses it for me to run after ('my favorite'); When I do my "stuff" in the right place I get a treat,(tiny steak pieces - 'my favorite'); and my Mom makes my food at home - yummy lean ground beef and chicken with brown rice and pureed vegetables (my favorite!).
My Mom's Vet thinks I was only 7 or 8 years of age when she adopted me, so that would make me about 14 or 15 years old now. Aw heck! Age is only important if you are cheese! (Cheese - my favorite!).
If I sometimes make a mistake with my "Stuff" my Mom never punishes me because she loves me. So I am here to stay forever with my Mom (my very favorite!!!).
